Unhappy GW crashes at start

hey umm so how do i explain this in the shortest possible way, my GW broke
everytime i try to log in, no matter with what account i just stopes responding and i cant do anything.

i've tried reinstalling, uninstalling, updating, file fixing... nothing and i cant find a fix for this on the net, the only fix i found is disabling anti virus which still didnt help.
and yes i did restart my computer already for all the smart people out there

thanks in advance, i hope i find a solution soon cause i just bought the game and im super bummed

or one of the options is youve done something really bad and they banned your computer ip adrress from ever logging in to gw or they deleted all your CD keys that is under your ip adress (i dunno its just a suggestion) or maybe your computer is just not compatible to play guildwars

so let me get this straight: you've started the game, see the title screen, types in your account info, press enter, and the game crashes? or, does the game completely fail to start? your description of the problem is very vague.

that will only work if his friend has an identical computer with identical software. since it's highly likely that he doesn't have such a friend, that test won't work.

what happens in short is this: start game, everything goes normal, type in account password char name everything press enter, usually when you press enter for a blink of a second the game freezes for like 0.005 seconds, it looks like this, untill you realize its gonna be stuck like this untill you decide to take action.
the music keeps playing in the background, you CAN move your mouse but not click on anything any everything just freezes.
i hope you understand

how long have you tried waiting? the first time after installation might take a bit of time, if you don't have a complete GW.dat file.

if your system never snaps out of it, it might be an issue with not having enough RAM, or some issue with the graphic card.

its just that, that it suddenly happened, i played a couple of times before, even got up to level 5 but then kaboom one evening it just failed and i tried waiting for about 3 hours, just left it on, nothing. i really dont think its a ram problem or a graphics card problem because even with the lowest settings and everything bioshock seems to still be running, though at a low fps, it doesnt fail.

this really upsets me

With those details, it is either your RAM or Graphics Card.

Firewall - turn off Windows Firewall (and/or any other firewall you may be running) and see if it works then. If that's the problem, then get into WinWall and set up GW as an exception (or just leaving WinWall off).
